Note: The amount of contact names your MarketSharp system will be able to handle is limited by the processing power and memory of your computer. Investing in a more powerful computer system will allow you to take advantage of marketing to larger databases. For example, a 250,000-name database can vary in size all the way up to 400 MB. A computer that only meets the minimum requirements will be extremely slow and may experience
problems in everyday operations.
Printer
You should carefully choose a high quality printer to use with your MarketSharp system. You’ll have the ability to do large quantity targeted direct mailings and in order to be efficient when printing the mailings, it is necessary to have a fast, reliable and cost-effective printer. Because of post office regulations, some of the self-mailers (i.e., Postcards) used with MarketSharp exceed the maximum paperweight allowed by some printers. Be sure you choose a printer that allows for the heavier paperweight in standard sheet sizes. A printer with the following specifications or better is recommended:
- Monochrome Laser Printer
- 133 MHz Processor or higher
- 16 MB of RAM
- 18-20 Pages Per Minute at 600 DPI up to 1200 DPI
- 200 Sheet Paper Tray
- 50 Sheet Multipurpose Tray
- Handles cardstock paper
- Handles letter, legal, envelopes, etc.
* On January 16, 2004 Microsoft terminated all support for Windows 98/SE/ME. MarketSharp highly recommends you migrate from Windows 98/SE/ME to Windows XP Professional edition.
